Privacy Policy

1) What GameChats is

GameChats provides public chat rooms related to games. Users can post messages and images, and maintain a public profile (for example: nickname, avatar, and a list of chats). Chat rooms are public by design. Please do not share sensitive personal information in public chats.

2) Information we collect

2.1 Account and identifiers

• Firebase User ID (a unique identifier used to operate the service).
• Login methods: Firebase Google Sign-In and Firebase Anonymous sign-in.
• If you use Google Sign-In, Firebase provides basic account information required for authentication (for example, a stable user identifier; depending on your Google settings, it may also include your display name and email).

2.2 User-generated content (UGC)

• Public chat messages (text) you post in rooms.
• Images you upload/send in chats.
• Profile data you choose to publish (e.g., nickname, avatar, and other optional fields, including your public list of chats).
• Reports you submit (e.g., “report message/image”), including the reported content reference and the reason.

2.3 Technical and usage data

• Device and app information (device model, OS version, app version, language) used for stability and support.
• Web usage information (basic browser/app usage events) used to operate and improve the web experience.
• Log data (IP address, timestamps, request metadata) may be processed by our infrastructure providers for security and reliability.

2.4 Analytics

GameChats uses Firebase Analytics to understand app usage and improve product quality. Analytics may collect information such as device identifiers, approximate location (derived from IP or device settings), app interactions (screen views, taps, feature usage), and performance-related events.

3) How we use information

• To provide chat functionality (send/receive/display messages and images).
• To operate authentication, accounts, and core features.
• To run moderation workflows: process reports, remove content that violates rules, and apply restrictions or bans.
• To detect abuse, spam, and security issues.
• To improve the service (analytics, product decisions, bug fixes, reliability).
• To deliver push notifications (if enabled).

4) Public nature of chats and profiles

Chat rooms are public. Your messages, images, and public profile information may be visible to other users. Do not post passwords, private addresses, bank data, documents, or other sensitive data.

5) Reports, moderation, and enforcement

Users can report specific messages and images. Reports are stored in our backend and reviewed. We may delete content, limit features, temporarily restrict access, or permanently ban accounts for violations of our rules or applicable laws.

6) Push notifications

GameChats can send push notifications (for example, replies to your messages or important moderation/account events). Notifications are delivered via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). To deliver notifications, we may store a device push token linked to your account. You can disable notifications in your device settings.

7) Where your data is stored (Firebase / Google)

GameChats uses Firebase (Google) services to provide authentication, data storage, real-time updates, image storage, push notification delivery, and analytics. Depending on feature usage, this may include: Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Storage, Firebase Cloud Messaging, and Firebase Analytics.

8) Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal data.

We share data with service providers only as needed to operate GameChats (for example, Firebase/Google as described above). These providers process data under their own terms and security standards.

9) Data retention

• Account data: kept while your account is active and as needed to operate the service.
• Messages and images: may be retained to preserve public conversation history and for moderation/safety.
• Reports and moderation records: retained as needed to enforce rules and prevent repeated abuse.
• Analytics data: retained according to Firebase Analytics settings and used for product improvement.

10) Account deletion

You can delete your account from within the app (Account deletion). When you delete your account, we remove your authentication record and delete or anonymize profile data where applicable.

Messages and images you posted in public chats may remain visible to preserve conversation history, but they will no longer be associated with your identity (for example, shown as “Deleted user”).

11) Security

We use industry-standard security practices and rely on Firebase security measures to protect data in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

12) Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or object to certain processing. To request help, contact us via email.

13) Children

GameChats is not intended for children under the age of 13.

14) Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest version.
